Stop 1Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
Begin the day at the waterfall you can walk behind, where a narrow path threads along the cliff face into the spray. In summer, the light through the cascade is unforgettable.
Stop 2Skógafoss Waterfall
A short drive east brings you to one of Iceland's wider, louder waterfalls sixty metres of meltwater dropping straight into the valley, with a staircase climbing to the view from above.
Stop 3The Icelandic Lava Show
An indoor viewing where re-melted volcanic rock is poured over ice within metres of your seat, paired with the story of the 1918 Katla eruption and the community that lived through it.
Stop 4Reynisfjara Black-Sand Beach
Walk the basalt columns and watch the North Atlantic break against the Reynisdrangar sea stacks. Your guide will show you where the surf is safest to approach.
Stop 5Sólheimajökull Glacier Edge
Close the day with an easy valley walk to the edge of an outlet glacier streaked with ancient volcanic ash a quiet, cinematic finish to the south coast.
