The Snæfellsnes Peninsula packs more Iceland into a single stretch of coastline than anywhere else in the country lava fields, glacier, black sand beaches, basalt cliffs, fishing villages, and a church so black it looks like it was painted by the landscape itself. This private day tour covers all of it, at a pace that lets you actually stop and take it in.

Stop 1Borgarnes
Your Snæfellsnes adventure begins with a stop at a local bakery in this coastal town overlooking the Borgarfjörður fjord. Stretch your legs and enjoy freshly baked treats before venturing into the peninsula.
Stop 2Selvallavatn Lake & Berserkjahraun Lava Fields
The day opens at Selvallavatn lake and the ancient Berserkjahraun lava field — a chance to stretch your legs and take in the raw, volcanic texture of Snæfellsnes before the day builds. From here, you'll also see Selvallafoss, the Sheep's Waterfall, tumbling down between the mountains and the lake's edge in one of the peninsula's most quietly spectacular scenes.
Stop 3Kirkjufell Mountain and Waterfall
Arrive at Iceland's most iconic mountain, famously featured in Game of Thrones. The symmetrical peak reflected in the nearby waterfall creates what many consider the most beautiful scene in all of Iceland.
Stop 4Lunch at Sker Restaurant
Pause for a relaxed lunch at Sker, a local restaurant celebrating Snæfellsnes produce and the surrounding sea. Expect fresh, seasonal Icelandic dishes in a warm, design-led space — a quiet midpoint to the day before continuing west.
Stop 5Djúpalónssandur Beach
Walk along this dramatic black pebble beach where powerful Atlantic waves meet ancient lava formations. Test your strength on the historic 'lifting stones' once used to judge the fitness of local fishermen.
Stop 6Arnarstapi Coastline
Explore the rugged coastal trail between Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where towering sea cliffs, natural stone arches, and abundant birdlife create a photographer's paradise.
Stop 7Búðakirkja - The Black Church of Búðir
Visit one of Iceland's most photographed landmarks: a striking jet-black church standing in dramatic isolation against sweeping lava fields and the vast Atlantic Ocean.
Stop 8Ytri Tunga Beach
End your day at this golden sand beach, famous for its resident seal colony. Watch these playful creatures basking on the rocks or bobbing in the surf.
