Cancellation Policy
At Easy Travel Iceland we have always tried to keep our cancellation terms as flexible as we can while still respecting the commitments we make to our hotel and activity partners. We know that travel plans can change for reasons that are entirely outside your control, and we will always do our best to rearrange your trip, swap components or refund what we can rather than walking away from the conversation.
The policies below cover bookings made directly through Easy Travel Iceland. For our full booking terms payment schedules, liability, weather and operational expectations please see our Booking Terms & Conditions.
Travel Professionals
Travel agents, resellers, DMCs and OTAs operate under our Partner Terms & Conditions, which supersede the standard policies on this page. Please contact us at info@easytravel.is for the relevant agreement.
Important special exceptions
Two exceptions apply to every package:
- If a single component of a package is cancelled (rather than the whole trip), the cancellation policy of that specific item may apply.
- Some hotels and activities we work with operate stricter cancellation terms in those cases the supplier policy is layered on top of the Easy Travel Iceland fees below. Your travel designer will flag any of these terms before you confirm.
Private Day Tours · FIT & group bookings
Applies to all private day tours where only the day tour is booked (no accommodation). Wherever possible we will reschedule rather than cancel.

Multi-Day Packages · FIT bookings of 1–8 people / 1–4 hotel rooms
Applies when your party is fewer than 8 travellers (or fewer than 4 hotel rooms). 10% of the total trip cost is always non-refundable to cover transactional and administrative costs. If only a deposit has been paid when the cancellation is received, the cancellation fee is calculated on the full trip price.

Some high-end accommodation included in your trip may carry a stricter supplier policy (typically a 30-day window). Your travel designer will list these clearly in your proposal so you can decide before payment.
Multi-Day Packages · group bookings of 8+ people / 4+ rooms
Group bookings include an extended planning period and larger contractual commitments with our partners. Unless otherwise stated in your contract, the following schedule applies. As above, 10% of the total trip cost is always non-refundable.

MICE, corporate & B2B programmes
MICE and corporate programmes are quoted individually and the cancellation schedule is set out in the relevant contract. The schedule typically follows the group multi-day policy above, with adjustments for venue, activity and transport commitments. The contract terms always prevail over this page.
Tour cancelled by Easy Travel Iceland
Iceland’s weather can change quickly and is, on rare occasions, unsafe. If we need to cancel or amend your tour because conditions make it impractical or unsafe to operate, you will receive a refund for the cancelled portion or the agreed replacement arrangement. The decision is always made with your safety, and ours, in mind.
Weather decisions can come as late as the morning of your tour, or even during the tour itself. Please make sure we have a working phone number and email so we can reach you quickly if anything needs to change.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that every guest takes out comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses and repatriation as soon as the deposit is paid. Insurance particularly Cancel For Any Reason cover is the simplest way to protect yourself against circumstances that fall outside our cancellation policy, including illness, missed flights and force majeure events.
Force majeure
Force majeure is defined as an unforeseeable circumstance that prevents either party from fulfilling the contract. Examples include (but are not limited to) war, riots, fire, flood, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, lightning, rock slides, explosions, strikes, slowdowns, pandemics or other public health concerns, international travel restrictions, terrorism, prolonged energy shortages and acts of state or governmental action that prevent the trip from operating.
In a force majeure event, Easy Travel Iceland is not liable for refunds and this clause supersedes the standard cancellation policies above where appropriate. We will, in every case, do our best to rearrange, reschedule or move your booking. This is the main reason we recommend Cancel For Any Reason travel insurance, which typically covers force majeure where our standard terms cannot.
How to cancel
All cancellation and amendment requests must come from the lead traveller on the reservation and be sent in writing to info@easytravel.is. The cancellation is only effective once we have confirmed it back to you.
Approved refunds are processed within 7 working days back to the original payment method. We are not responsible for additional bank charges, processing delays or currency conversion fees applied by your card issuer once the refund has left our account.
