Stop 1Raufarhólshellir Lava Tunnel
Begin the day deep beneath the surface on a guided tour through one of Iceland's longest lava tunnels. Towering volcanic chambers, vivid mineral colours and delicate lava formations built up over thousands of years.
Stop 2Krýsuvík & Seltún Geothermal Fields
Boardwalks wind through a Martian landscape of steaming vents, bubbling mud pots and sulphurous mineral colours that look painted into the earth.
Stop 3Lunch Stop at a Local Cafe in Grindavík
Take a relaxed break in Grindavík, a small fishing town on the peninsula's southern coast. Local cafes serve fresh Icelandic fish, homemade soups and hearty sandwiches — a good reset before the afternoon's geothermal and coastal highlights.
Stop 4Gunnuhver Mud Pool
Iceland's largest boiling mud pool, named after a 17th-century ghost, roars continuously from the viewing platform above the steam.
Stop 5Reykjanesviti Lighthouse & Headland
Iceland's oldest lighthouse, perched at the windswept southwestern tip of the peninsula where the Atlantic meets the land.
Stop 6Bridge Between Continents
A short walk over the symbolic footbridge that places you physically on the boundary of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Stop 7Blue Lagoon Premium Entry
Close the day at the world's most famous geothermal lagoon. Premium entry includes silica mud mask, two drinks at the swim-up bar, towel, and bathrobe. Take as long as you need.
